Giving Kids a Chance to Discover Nature

The Kids in the Park initiative is a new program to support the Friends of Wehr ambition to get more children outdoors and connected to the natural world. We are asking you to help us do what we do best: engaging children with bugs, trees, animals, clean air, and clean water. Our programs use math and science skills in real world settings to let students know they can become caring stewards in their own community.

Kids in the Park has a goal of directing 100% of donation dollars to programs serving the students, teachers and families that participate in programs of Wehr Nature Center /Nature in the Parks. This campaign will help us spread awareness about the importance of nature to the healthy development of children and raise needed funds to continue the education programs at Wehr and Nature in the Parks.

A strong goal of the Kids in the Parks program is to meet the increased need of fieldtrip sponsorships. Wehr Nature Center has always provided sponsorships to low-income schools for fieldtrips but now more than ever schools need our continued support. Help us do what we do best – getting kids out and exploring in the parks. We hope that support from corporations, foundations and folks like you can help us reach more children.
