Operation Recon Nature - Free Guided Hikes for Veterans and Active Military
Hiking is a safe way to get families and friends together during these stressful days. For one hour, we will follow trails at Wehr Nature Center to relax and restore our minds. These hikes will take us to trails where we will follow a monthly seasonally themed experience; woodland, wetland and prairie. Free for active duty and reserve military Veterans and their families. Wehr Naturally Series
From cooking to painting to journaling, Wehr Naturally Series pulls the connection to nature into unique workshops. No experience needed. Workshops features a guest expert to guide you through and includes all materials.

Wisconsin Master Naturalist
This statewide program is designed to provide a broad introduction to the natural history of Wisconsin and to train volunteers in Citizen Science skills. Classroom sessions and fieldtrips will explore ecology, plant communities, landscapes, water and more.

Birding Activities
All level birders welcome to join year round bird hikes. Programs cover topics like bird ID, migration, citizen science monitoring, and more. Combine your interest in birds with a fun atmosphere to learn without even trying.

Nature Discovery Day and Night
Explore a variety of nature topics through adult-only workshops and programs. Maple tapping, climate change, bumblebees, and pollinator gardens are just a few of the engaging day-time opportunities this year. Night-time adventures explore our nocturnal neighbors bats, moths, and owls.

Hike for Health
Free walking club that explores Wehr's trails together for camaraderie, exercise and fun. Group meets Wednesdays @ 10:30 am in front of the Visitor Center.

Nature Speakers Bureau
Let Wehr bring nature to your club, organization, or association. Interesting and lively presentations topics include: bees, bats, owls, moths, hummingbirds and butterflies. Bring in one of our experts for your next meeting or gathering.

Please note that most of the Adult Programs featured on this site will require registration through our partner, Milwaukee County Parks. Each program listed on the Events Page will have a register button that directs you to complete the transaction.
