Wehr Nature Center in Whitnall Park is the next location to host County Executive Crowley’s Healthy County Challenge. This initiative encourages getting outside and using our Parks for both our mental and physical health. This Saturday, Wehr will host a variety of activities between 10-12 pm that showcase the most accessible nature destination in the Parks. Wehr Nature Center invites all ages and abilities to participate in a “Big Sit” bird-in-place activity that requires no previous birding experience. A Park Naturalist and volunteers will be leading short hikes that highlight seasonal sightings. All-terrain wheel chairs provided by Access Ability Wisconsin (motorized) and the Ability Center (non motorized) will be on site to test out. Special guest, Paralympian gold medalist John Boie, will share his story about what outdoor recreation means to him as a Wisconsin native.

You don’t want to miss out on this wonderful, FREE, community event. The first 50 people to attend will receive tickets to Milwaukee County Parks events or venues.
