Join Team Wehr for the People’s Ecochallenge

This fall Wehr will be participating in a global event called The People’s Ecochallenge run by the non-profit Ecochallenge.org. The People’s Ecochallenge is a 21-day environmental and social engagement program that brings together individual and collective action, camaraderie, and friendly competition to promote positive change. This year’s Ecochallenge runs from October 7 to October 28. Individuals select or create actions that align with their personal values and make a 21-day commitment to complete those actions, all while practicing and reinforcing good habits. For every completed action, you earn points and create impact. You can participate individually, but we invite you to join us as part of our organization so we can all support and celebrate each other’s successes!

Many of the actions focus on reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change impacts. In addition, the 2020 version of the event has categories such as Community, Health, Simplicity, and Justice for the Whole Community that include actions related to social justice and equity, as well as self-care during these crazy times. Go to https://peoples.ecochallenge.org/challenges to read more about the actions you can choose as part of the event.

To join in the Ecochallenge as part of team Wehr, please go to https://peoples.ecochallenge.org/ and click Join. Enter your information and then you’ll be asked to join an existing team or create your own team. To join Wehr’s team, enter “Wehr Nature Center” in the search box. It will display all the existing teams associated with our organization. Team Wehr is open to anyone who loves Wehr. Once you have joined you will be able to see our team members and share information and comments with them on the “Team Feed”.  If you have any questions, please email Bev at beverly.bryant@milwaukeecountywi.gov.
