50th Anniversary Pollinator Brunch

Brunch for the bees? Yes, please! Join us for a one-of-a-kind event celebrating Wehr’s 50 years of providing “A place for all seasons, a place for everyone.”


This daytime gala event invites the community to support the “Rooted and Growing” future of Wehr fundraising campaign. Satisfy your senses with delicious cuisine and music. Enjoy an afternoon at Wehr among the winged wildlife and native wildflowers of Milwaukee’s oldest public nature center. Participate in a silent and live auction. Grab your seat today!

Itinerary

11 am - Stroll along the boardwalk to pollinator inspired hors d'oeuvres hand crafted by local chefs while you sample plant-based artisanal beverages curated by local businesses.


12 pm - Eat a sustainably sourced brunch buffet provided by woman-owned Noble Catering while you listen to sweet musical stylings of local band Frogwater which features a cross pollination of musical genres; Celtic, Bluegrass, Old-Time American and Blues.


1 pm - Learn about Wehr's history alongside local historian John Gurda followed by an opportunity to give via a live and silent auction in support for the "Rooted and Growing" campaign to fund site improvement projects that advance the center into the next 50 years.


2 pm - Leave with a full stomach, abundant heart, and baked good to savor the flavor.

Why a Pollinator Brunch?

Pollinators are essential in our world and bring so much value to us that we might not even recognize.
Our brunch is for the "bees"; celebrating with the community Wehr’s 50 years of providing  “A place for all seasons, a place for everyone.”

Pollinator Brunch FAQS

  • What should I wear?

    Attire is casual and comfortable.


    The event is held outside of the Visitor Center. Please take the temperature into account when choosing an outfit.

  • What is on the menu?

    In addition to "walking bites" hosted by local chefs, Noble Catering will be providing a pollinator inspired brunch with:

    Herb Roasted Chicken Breast Seasonal greens, crispy prosciutto, pickled cantaloupe, goat cheese cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, lemon and thyme vinaigrette

    Frittata & Skewer (Can be made vegetarian)

    Poblano and Potato Frittata w/ Marinated Carne Asada Skewer, avocado, salsa verde and cotija

    Petite Greens Salad with tequila lime Dressing, grilled corn and tomato


  • Food Allergy Concerns

    Please list any food allergies or sensitivities that you or any of your guests have during registration and we will work with you to make sure there are options for you. You can also email carol.howard@milwaukeecountywi.gov  with any specific concerns.

  • Parking

    Parking will be at the Visitor Center. Our parking lot can get pretty full for large events such as this so please consider carpooling if you are coming with other guests. Parking fee cost is included with your ticket. 

  • Can I purchase a table?

    You can purchase a table which has 8 seats at a cost of $600. ($40 discount). Can be purchased with the ticket link above. 

  • Are my tickets/auction purchases/event contributions tax deductible?

    $38 of your ticket is tax-deductible. 

  • Accessibility Concerns

    This is an accessible event. All activities will be held on ADA-friendly located in and around the center. Participants will travel from the amphitheater to the Gardner Room and back for food and optional food stations will be located at the viewing deck.
