Kids in the Park Scholarship Fund

Getting more students outside

Wehr Nature Center has a longstanding history of providing high-quality, engaging, environmental education experiences for youth from throughout southeast Wisconsin. While we strive to make accessible these programs for all types of learners, we know that sometimes cost can be a barrier.

Therefore, in partnership with the Friends of Wehr Nature Center, we are thrilled to be able to provide the Kids in the Park scholarship program in the 2022/23 school year in order to allow more students to experience the wonders of nature wherever they are whether it be in their school classroom, in a nearby Milwaukee County Park, or at Wehr Nature Center.

We promise these experiences will be ones that students remember long after their visit and look forward to supporting you this school year. Please review the scholarship process below and contact us with any questions.

"Our partnership with Wehr Nature Center is invaluable in providing opportunities for our diverse student population. So many of our students do not have the opportunity to experience and connect to the natural world. The benefits of having students working with experts in their field to learn about our natural world, and make connections to real-world issues in our own community, allow our students to have meaningful experiences that enhance their overall understanding of our world. Working with the Wehr Nature Center team has been the missing piece to the puzzle when helping our students to learn and grow, and for them to see themselves as an integral part of our larger community."
