Our staff and volunteers have been busy removing invasive buckthorn and Eurasian bittersweet from our oak savanna and observation blind areas. Now that the sites are prepared, we are ready to restore them by planting native trees and shrubs, but we need your help. Please support our land restoration efforts by sponsoring a tree and/or shrub that will provide habitat for birds, pollinators, and other wildlife. Your purchase, of the trees we've selected, will help our Oak Savannah restoration project. Donors can choose which species they would like to sponsor and can even help plant their tree/shrub at our September planting event.
For those who missed out on the 2024 sponsorship, please do not worry, there will be more opportunities in the future as we continue to restore natural areas at Wehr.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored trees and shrubs!
2024 Planting Day Photos
We plan on geolocating all donated trees so families can follow the progress of their donation. Your one-of-a-kind gift will make a lasting difference here at Wehr.
2024 Sponsorship has passed. Stay tuned for 2025.
Take a look at the list of trees and shrubs using the link below in step one. Keep in mind there are a limited number of each type, so start shopping early.
Friendly Reminder: After planting, Wehr Nature Center is not responsible for the conditions of the trees and/or shrubs caused by nature/weather phenomenon.
