Words from our Wehr Community - Visitors

Read how Wehr has had an impact on the lives of visitors.

"There aren't enough words to describe how the Wehr has impacted me. I could talk about the many hikes and strolls throughout the center over the years, or the fun and engaging activities and annual events (owl prowls, brews and botany, chili cookoff, etc).. But truly, its biggest impact is the sense of community, connection to nature, and its role in my family as a space to learn, explore, and make so many wonderful memories together. Its focus on accessible trails allows folks of all abilities to experience our environment and wildlife, and its programming continues to inspire my family's own passion for stewardship of the natural world. The Wehr Nature Center is an incredible hidden asset to Milwaukee, and I am excited to see it grow over the next 50 years!"

"I love bringing my grandchildren Avery and Ayden to the Wehr Nature Center.  There is so much to learn and do.  My daughter, Katie loves to come to the Wehr and take nature hikes with us too. We were on a Veteran’s nature hike with Holly and did an art project together.  This is special to me as a Veteran to have this opportunity to share with my grandchildren. "

"It's my go to for walking, the place that feels like my home in nature in Milwaukee County. I love watching the seasons change. I notice something new on every visit even though I can no longer count how many times I've been there!"
