The Friends of Wehr believe that every person deserves to have access to nature year round. The Friends of Wehr Nature Center is committed to sustaining an accessible nature destination; a place for all seasons, a place for everyone.

SPARK!

Thanks to a grant from Bader Philanthropies, Wehr is offering a pilot SPARK! program for adults with memory loss and their care partner.

Partnerships

Each August, Wehr partners with Michelle's Action Angels to host the Shine Bright through the Night Walk, raising money and awareness of Autism Spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

Reserve an AAW Outdoor All-Terrain Wheelchair

Partnering with Access Ability Wisconsin allows you to use the chair at Wehr, another Milwaukee County Park, or a location of your choice. Think ahead about your next outdoor adventure and reserve today!

Outdoor Features

Fully accessible pier on Mallard Lake to be enjoyed by all visitors and used for educational programming and events. In addtion to the pier, Wehr offers a 1/3 mile, accessible Wetland boardwalk loop trail!

The Wehr Nature Center strives to make its exhibits, programs, and facilities accessible to all visitors.

Indoor Features

We are thrilled to have an accessible family restroom with adult changing table. We also have a classroom with flat screen TV for small groups and programs.
