The Friends of Wehr is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support and promotion of the
Wehr Nature Center and its environmental education programs. This support reaches every aspect of Wehr, from stewardship of natural areas to financial support for children's programs to sponsorships of special events, summer internships, Nature in the Parks, live animals, and professional staff development.
The Friends of Wehr provides the funding for permanent and temporary exhibits enjoyed by over 60,000 visitors per year, and program materials and support for over 20,000 children per year. FOW has also provided the Center's first permanent, professionally constructed displays – five ecosystem interpretive trail signs and an indoor Soils Display in the Gardner Room, and has been instrumental in the construction of almost one mile of replacement and new boardwalk through
the Wetland.
